Best Vending Machine Locators Compared (2026): Fees & Terms

By Zach Downey, Pinpoint Vending·Published Oct 1, 2026

Which vending locator service is best depends on what you want to buy. For a list of businesses to pitch, Vending Locator and The Vending Locator sell one-time lists from $19. For a location found and paid for after installation, Nationwide Vending Locators starts at $400. For a signed venue, Pinpoint charges $1,199, $1,000 of it a refundable deposit.

Pinpoint Vending wrote this post and sells one of the nine services compared in it, so read the Pinpoint section knowing that. Every other company's facts come from its own website, linked where each fact appears, and every price is as listed on 1 October 2026. We describe what each seller publishes and leave the verdict to you; prices change, so check the linked page before you pay.

How were these vending locator services chosen and compared?

The nine vending locator services in this comparison were chosen because operators meet them when searching for a vending locator and because each one publishes enough on its own website to describe it fairly. For every service we recorded five things from the seller's own pages on 1 October 2026: the business model, the published price, what the operator receives, refund or guarantee terms, and coverage. Where a price is not published, we say so.

The nine fall into four business models:

  1. One-time lead list. A researched list of businesses near your zip code; you make every call. Vending Locator and The Vending Locator.
  2. Lead subscription or membership. A recurring fee for access to businesses or spaces asking for a machine; you still pitch and sign. VendingExchange and VendPlacer.
  3. Per-placement locator. Someone pitches venues for you and charges per location found. Nationwide Vending Locators, Kick Start Locations, Top Choice Locations, Vending Media, and The Vending Locator's placement packages.
  4. Placement service. The service signs the venue under its own agreement and licenses the space to you. Pinpoint.

If you are still choosing between models rather than between companies, are vending machine locator services worth it weighs lead lists, one-off locator fees and placement services against finding a venue yourself, without the company names. Star ratings and review scores are left out here on purpose: every figure below can be checked on a public page with a date.

How do the vending locator services compare side by side?

The nine vending locator services compared here range from a $19 one-time list to a $2,000 guaranteed placement, and they differ most on what the operator receives and what comes back if nothing is placed. The table summarizes each seller's published terms as listed on 1 October 2026; the sections after it give the detail and the source link for every figure.

Which vending locator services sell lead lists or memberships?

Vending Locator, The Vending Locator, VendingExchange and VendPlacer sell access to businesses rather than a signed location. With each of these four services the operator still makes the pitch, agrees the commission or rent, and signs the agreement with the venue. The four differ in price, in how the businesses were found, and in whether the business has asked for a vending machine.

Vending Locator (vendinglocator.com)

Vending Locator sells one-time lists of businesses researched around your zip code, at four tiers on its pricing page:

  • Basic, $19: 50+ locations within 15 miles, delivered in 5 days.
  • Pro, $39: 200+ locations within 25 miles in 3 days, with email addresses where a business publishes one.
  • Starter Kit, $149: the Pro list plus 90 days of its hot-lead program (businesses that contacted it asking for vending), scripts and templates.
  • Gold, $999: 250+ locations and 180 days of hot leads.

Each lead carries a business name, phone number and address. The same page's FAQ says the team does not call the businesses for you and cannot confirm whether a business already has a machine. Refunds are considered case by case, and most clients are in the US and Canada.

The Vending Locator (thevendinglocator.com)

The Vending Locator is a separate company from Vending Locator, with its own pricing page. Its one-time lists are Basic $19 (50+ locations), Pro $29 (100+), Start $129 (200+, with an eCourse, scripts and contract templates) and Gold $899 (300+, with further business extras listed on the page).

It also sells guaranteed placement packages in which its own team does the outreach: $500 for one location with 50+ employees, $1,000 for 100+, $1,500 for 150+ and $2,000 for 200+, each on a 1–6 month timeline. A hot-lead subscription is $199 a year on the annual plan, with leads sold first come, first served. Its FAQ says it does not offer refunds and covers all 50 states.

VendingExchange

VendingExchange charges $39 a month after a 30-day free trial, with no commitment, according to its operator page. Its leads are businesses that asked for vending on one of its portal websites and were then called by its team to verify the details. Subscribers see the leads; the first operator to buy a lead's details gets it, and the per-lead price is not published on that page. Email alerts cover leads within 100 miles. The page says it cannot guarantee placement or refund you if the sale is not made.

VendPlacer

VendPlacer is a marketplace where property owners list a space and set a monthly rent, and operators pay a $249-a-year membership to send them inquiries, per its pricing page. Rent is agreed and paid directly between operator and owner, and VendPlacer says it takes no commission. The same page puts typical rents at $48 to $150 a month by venue type and lists 19,000+ locations across 290+ cities worldwide. You can cancel at any time and keep access to the end of the billing period; refund terms are not published.

Which vending locator services find the location for you?

Nationwide Vending Locators, Kick Start Locations, Top Choice Locations and Vending Media do the pitching themselves and charge per location, as do The Vending Locator's placement packages. For a per-placement locator, the terms that matter most are when you pay (before the search or after installation), whether you approve the venue first, and what happens if the venue asks for the machine to be removed.

Nationwide Vending Locators

Nationwide Vending Locators charges from $400 per location, with no deposit and no subscription, and the fee is due on the day your machines are installed, according to its homepage. The price depends on employee count, foot traffic and the number of machines. Its published examples are $400 for a single drink machine at an apartment complex, $800 for a drink and a snack machine at a 40-employee clinic, and $1,000 for two drink machines, a snack machine and coffee service at a 100-employee plant.

Its FAQ says there are no refunds, but you inspect and approve each location before installation, and a $25-a-day fee applies to late payment. The company says it avoids commissions where it can, with some large locations asking up to 10%, and that it covers all 50 states.

Kick Start Locations

Kick Start Locations prices per location by machine type, mainly for bulk candy and smaller machines: from $49.99 for an honor box or single-head machine up to $149.99 for a five-selection vending rack, with soda, snack and healthy machines quoted by consultation (order page). Payment is taken up front.

Its warranty page gives every plan a free replacement if a machine is removed within 90 days of the location being found, capped at 30% of locations ordered; Gold and Platinum plans add replacements at $20 each for two years. Refunds are not given in the first 60 days after ordering, after 120 days, or once a location has been found. You may turn down up to 20% of locations before placement. Its FAQ recommends paying venues at least 20% of gross sales. Coverage is not stated on the pages we read.

Top Choice Locations (Vending Business Services)

Top Choice Locations, whose website also carries the name Vending Business Services, locates full-size vending machines, micro markets, ATMs and ice and water machines, and its homepage says every location is subject to your approval. Fees are not published; the fees page asks you to call.

Its policies page says payment is required to start a locating job and is not refunded once work has been done. Its FAQ describes a 90-day warranty on locations and replacements at half the original location price for as long as you own the machine. The homepage says it has placed machines in the US and Canada and offers a "Bill Me Later" option that delays payment for up to six months.

Vending Media

Vending Media sells vending machines with advertising screens and includes a location service free with every machine purchase, which its location services page describes as a guaranteed location. The same page lists individual locations for sale at $995 to $2,500 each, including an auto dealership at $995, a hotel in Tampa at $1,500 and a function hall in La Marque, Texas, at $2,500. Refund and replacement terms are not published on those pages, and the company says it places machines across the US and Canada.

How does Pinpoint's vending locator service compare?

Pinpoint Vending is a placement service: Pinpoint signs the venue under its own host agreement and licenses the space to the operator, so the operator does not sign with the venue directly. Pinpoint charges $1,199 to start, a $1,000 refundable deposit plus a $199 processing fee, and presents up to 2 qualified locations. If Pinpoint does not present a location within 6 months, the whole $1,199 comes back and Pinpoint pays a further $1,000.

The rest of Pinpoint's vending machine locator service, from its key terms:

  • $100 a month placement fee, first due one month after you sign for a location, for as long as the machine stays.
  • Typically 30–40% of revenue to the venue, after cost of goods. You see the exact figure on each location before you choose it, and you keep the rest.
  • Deposit back after 16 months placed. The $199 processing fee is kept, except when no location is presented within 6 months.
  • Replacement if the venue closes. If the venue goes out of business within 6 months of install, Pinpoint finds you a replacement free; between 6 and 12 months, for $500.
  • Premium locations, at venues with 100,000+ visitors a year, cost $2,200 to start ($1,800 of it refundable) and $200 a month.
  • 87 signed venues are publicly listed on the Pinpoint marketplace, and the average search takes about 3 months.

Where Pinpoint is the worse fit, plainly:

  • Cost up front. $1,199 against $19 to $39 for a list, and $199 of it does not come back unless we fail to present you a location.
  • Ongoing cost. The $100 monthly fee and the venue's 30–40% share run for as long as the machine stays. A list has no ongoing cost, VendPlacer rents are a flat $48 to $150 a month, and Nationwide Vending Locators says it avoids commissions where it can.
  • Volume. Up to 2 locations presented at a time, against 50 to 300+ names on a list or 19,000+ VendPlacer listings. If you want raw lead volume to work through, Pinpoint does not sell it.
  • Venue type. Of the 87 listed venues, 50 are bowling alleys, indoor playgrounds, family entertainment centers or trampoline parks, and none is an office or a factory. An office break-room route will find more matches with a workplace-focused locator.
  • Commitment. A 16-month minimum term, with the deposit forfeited if you leave early; advertising sold by Pinpoint's advertising partner shown on the machine where the venue permits it; and liability insurance naming Pinpoint as an additional insured.

What do vending locator fees actually buy?

Vending locator fees run from $19 for a one-time list to $2,500 for a single listed location, and the price buys something different at each level. A $19 to $39 list buys names; a $39-a-month or $249-a-year membership buys inquiries; a per-location fee, $49.99 to $2,000, buys someone else's pitch; and Pinpoint's $1,199 buys a signed venue, with $1,000 held as a deposit.

The table shows when each service takes the money and what comes back if nothing is placed.

Service When you pay If nothing is placed
Vending Locator At order Refund considered case by case
The Vending Locator At order No refunds, per its FAQ
VendingExchange Monthly, plus each lead you buy No refund if the sale is not made
VendPlacer Yearly Cancel anytime; refund terms not published
Nationwide Vending Locators On installation day Nothing is due until installation
Kick Start Locations At order Refund only from day 60 to day 120, and only if no location was found
Top Choice Locations Before work starts No refund once work has been done
Vending Media With a machine, or per listed location Not published
Pinpoint At order ($1,199) $1,199 back plus $1,000 paid if no location in 6 months

Two rows sit at either end of the operator's risk. Nationwide Vending Locators takes nothing until a machine is installed, so a search that fails costs the operator time and no money. Pinpoint takes $1,199 at order but, under its terms, refunds the whole $1,199 and pays $1,000 more if it misses the 6-month window, which leaves the operator $1,000 ahead. Between those two, most fees pay for the search or the access itself, and the protection, where there is one, is a replacement location rather than a refund.

Which vending locator service fits your situation?

The vending locator service that fits depends on your machine, your budget and how much of the pitching you want to do yourself. An operator with one snack machine and free afternoons needs something different from one placing ten gumball machines, or one who wants a signed venue at a bowling alley. Find the row that describes you, then read that company's section above.

If you are… Look at Why
Starting with one or two machines, short on money, happy to pitch Vending Locator or The Vending Locator Lists from $19, no ongoing cost
Able to pitch, and want businesses that asked for vending VendingExchange Verified requests for $39 a month; first buyer takes each lead
Preferring a fixed monthly rent to a revenue share VendPlacer $249 a year; owners set rents, typically $48–$150 a month
Placing full-size snack or drink machines in workplaces, and unwilling to pay before install Nationwide Vending Locators From $400, due on installation day
Placing many bulk candy or small machines Kick Start Locations $49.99–$149.99 per location, with a 90-day replacement
Placing micro markets, ATMs or ice machines Top Choice Locations Locates those machine types, with a 90-day warranty
Buying an advertising-screen machine anyway Vending Media A location is included with the machine
Wanting a signed entertainment venue and written refund terms, and able to commit 16 months Pinpoint Everything back plus $1,000 if no location in 6 months

If none of those rows fits, finding the venue yourself still costs nothing but time, and the full method is in our guide on how to find vending machine locations.

What red flags should you check before paying a vending locator?

The red flags worth checking before paying any vending locator start with the federal rule written for this exact sale. The FTC Business Opportunity Rule (16 CFR Part 437) covers sellers who, for a required payment, offer to provide locations for vending machines, and requires a one-page disclosure document at least seven calendar days before you sign or pay.

Walk away from a vending locator that:

  1. Promises an income per machine without a written earnings claim statement.
  2. Will not give you the disclosure document, or says the rule does not apply without explaining why.
  3. Takes payment with nothing in writing about what happens if no location is found.
  4. Pushes you to pay today with "only two left in your zip" pressure.
  5. Has no physical address or named owner you can check on the state business registry, and no operators you can phone.

The full list, with the FTC cases behind it, is in vending machine business opportunity scams: 9 red flags.

FAQ

Is Vending Locator the same company as The Vending Locator? No. Vending Locator (vendinglocator.com) and The Vending Locator (thevendinglocator.com) are separate websites with separate price lists. As listed on 1 October 2026, Vending Locator's Pro list is $39 and refunds are considered case by case; The Vending Locator's Pro list is $29, its FAQ says it does not offer refunds, and it also sells placement packages from $500.

Which vending locators let you pay after the machine is installed? Of the nine services compared here, Nationwide Vending Locators is the one whose published terms put the fee after installation: from $400 per location, due on the day the machines go in, with no deposit. The others charge when you order, by subscription, or with a machine purchase.

Do nationwide vending locators cover every state? Nationwide Vending Locators and The Vending Locator both say they cover all 50 states. VendingExchange covers the US, Top Choice Locations and Vending Media say they work in the US and Canada, and VendPlacer lists spaces worldwide. Pinpoint works in every state but Alaska and Hawaii. Kick Start Locations does not state its coverage on the pages we read.

What is the difference between a vending locator and a vending placement company? A vending locator finds or pitches venues, and the operator signs the agreement with the venue. A placement company signs the venue under its own agreement and licenses the space to the operator. Pinpoint is a placement company; the other eight services in this comparison sell lists, memberships, per-location locating, or a location with a machine.

Where can I find honest vending locator reviews? Look on pages the seller does not control, such as the Better Business Bureau, Google reviews and operator forums like r/vending, then ask the locator for three operators you can phone. This comparison leaves out star ratings so that every figure in it can be checked on a public page with a date.

Next step

If a signed venue with written refund terms is what you are comparing for, the three numbers that matter are on Pinpoint's pricing page: $1,199 to start ($1,000 refundable deposit plus a $199 processing fee), $100 a month from a month after you sign, and typically 30–40% of revenue to the venue after cost of goods. If a $19 list or a pay-on-install locator suits you better, each section above links straight to that seller's own terms.
